Have you come across the term minimalism more than once but don't know exactly what it is? Perhaps you've read about it in an article where the writer assumed you knew what it was, or heard it in a conversation with someone?
It is a style of decor and furniture that has recently emerged and doesn't seem to be fading anytime soon. But what qualities make furniture and decor minimalist?
Here's what the minimalist style entails!
Coordination:
What makes minimalism special is the very clear coordination between the elements used in the room. It is preferable for every piece of decor and furniture to be of the same style. A room will not be minimalist if the bed does not match the desk...
Simplicity:
The simplicity of certain elements can define the entire look of a room. It can have a unique design, but if it's not simple, then it's not minimalist furniture.

Visually Pleasing:
While it should be simple, it must also be visually pleasing or even enjoyable. If it's not comfortable, it doesn't truly belong to the minimalist style.
No more than three colors:
While some people like to have "a lot of colors" for a positive and vibrant look, this contradicts the theory of minimalism, as the fewer the colors, the better your mind works, and the more comfortable it is for the eyes.
